THE future of UK lapdancing clubs hangs by a thread as Govt MPs listened to some interesting insights from a silver fox who knows a thing or two about adult entertainment.
Peter Stringfellow, 68, is urging MP’s to reconsider tough new laws that will see strip clubs being exposed to the same regulations as sex shops.

The nightclub owner has struck a chord with many MY Sun users and a ‘gentlemanly’ debate has ensued.

A major statement of intent from Stringfellow, was that professionally run ‘gentleman clubs’ like his did not offer sexual encounters in any shape, or form. He added: “I’m not a sex encounter club and I don’t want anyone coming in my club thinking they’re going to get a sexual encounter.”

RAUNCHY stripclubs could be forced to close as the credit crunch bites, The Scottish Sun can reveal.

Sexy lap-dancers are struggling to earn enough cash as punters feel the pinch from the global financial crisis.
Now some hard-up club bosses — who have seen profits drop by up to 35 PER CENT — say they might have to close down their joints.

Last night Tony Cochrane — who owns Private Eyes in Aberdeen — admitted: “The situation is pretty dire.
“It is definitely down to the credit crunch.
“Guys are tightening their belts and have less money to spend.
“We are not so bad in Aberdeen because we have the oil industry which keeps things going.
“But big cities, where a number of clubs are competing for business, are bearing the brunt of the problems.
“Girls are coming to us from all over the country. We are inundated because their trade is drying up but we have to turn them away.”
Arthur Howe, boss of Seventh Heaven stripclub in Glasgow, added: “Our business is down on this time last year by 35 per cent.
“A three-day week is a possibility but I don’t know if there’s another 12 months left in the business.” Aberdeen-based lap-dancer Danielle, 24, says some girls are even struggling to earn the £50 dance deposit they pay to clubs each night.
She said: “They aren’t making nearly as much money as they used to.
“The punters are not parting with their money.”
Sexy Danielle — who has been dancing since she was 19 — added: “Girls are going out of their way to come up to Aberdeen just for weekend work.
“They can still make between £300 and £500 a night up here so it’s definitely worth their while.
“Money like that seems to be no longer available in Glasgow, Edinburgh and even London.”
